Don’t Bother Me was my final end of year project from my degree. It’s a riso printed field guide for the 17 most magical beetles in the UK. Aimed at bug lovers who want to discover more in their area, Don’t Bother Me describes each beetle in detail including where they are most likely to be seen, what they eat and some fun facts about the species. I also included a little green line on the back to show the beetles size in real life. 

I also wanted to include The Beatles somehow through this project, and I decided that the title is the perfect opportunity for this. I chose the song Don’t Bother Me as it ties to the idea of looking at and admiring the beetles, but also leaving them alone and letting them be. 

This project started off simply as a passion project to show my love for beetles, but it ended up being one of my proudest projects I have made at university. This project allowed me to experiment loads with the risograph printer and typesetting, and also pushed me to stick to a grid system for each page.
